Auxiliary Air Lab Hood Replacement
Add-Air fume hoods, also known as auxiliary air, make-up air hoods, and included air hoods, are constant volume (CV) fume hoods that supply their own air directly through a blower or duct run. These energy-saving exhaust hoods are less cost-efficient than other hoods (with the start-up costs of additional supply fans and ductwork), but offer more in long-term savings with energy-efficiency.
We highly recommend upgrading your existing fume hood to our high-performance options, as add-air hoods are “not recommended unless special energy conditions or design circumstances exist,” (ANSI/AIHA Z9.5-2012).
